Raised in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies by a pack of wild squirrels, Darren Calvert rose from his humble beginnings to graduate from the University of Alberta with a degree in Industrial Design.  He now works full-time as a freelance designer and illustrator and part-time as a design instructor at the University of Alberta.

He spends his spare time riding his mountain bike, reading comics, playing video games, watching movies, and sketching/drawing for fun.  Some of his former clients include: Mattel Toys, Cepia LLC, Moose Toys, Green Ronin Publishing, Kobold Quarterly Magazine, SEE Magazine, White Wolf Games, Alderac Entertainment, Fantasy Flight Games, and Penny Arcade.
